Dean, Jeffrey, MD
Dr. Jeffrey Dean treats a wide spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions with the goal of returning patients to their maximum level of function. Dr. Dean provides treatment for most sports related and degenerative conditions of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle, and carpal tunnel, with over eighteen years of expertise in arthroscopic surgery. Dr. Jeffrey Dean is board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery with subspecialty certification in Sports Medicine. Dr. Dean earned his Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He then continued his education, graduating from the Wright State University School of Medicine. His 22 year career in the United States Army including training at the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, as well as, multiple overseas assignments and deployments with his final assignment as the Chief of the Department of Surgery at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Dr. Dean enjoys spending time with his family, swimming, and cycling. Dr. Dean was published in the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons in a collaborative article discussing his experience in humanitarian relief work in Pakistan.

Fogel, Guy, MD
Dr. Guy Fogel is a graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in Orthopedic surgery at the Mayo Clinic, in Rochester Minnesota. His Orthopedic Spine fellowship training was with the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston Texas, where he was trained by mentors who have dedicated teaching and surgical practice to disorders of the spine.
Dr Fogel is an expert in disorders and injuries of the neck, thoracic, and lumbar spine. He has written more than fifteen scientific journal articles concerning disorders of the spine. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and a Diplomat of the American Board of Spine Surgery.

Dr. Caroline Gaynor-Elko is a member of APMA, TPMA, AAPSM. Dr. Gaynor-Elko completed her medical degree in 2003. Dr. Gaynor-Elko completed her internship at Wychoff Heights Medical Center. Kanz, Brian, MD
Dr. Brian Kanz is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon in San Antonio, Texas serving the Far West Side of San Antonio and the surrounding communities. His practice encompasses general orthopedic care and he treats a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions with an emphasis in Joint replacement surgery of the Hip, Knee and Shoulder. He continued his education at The University of Texas in Austin and received a Masters of Science degree in Pharmacy through the Division of Medicinal Chemistry. Dr. Kanz attended medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he also completed his internship in general surgery and completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency. At UTMB, he received extensive training in all aspects of musculoskeletal conditions and developed the skills necessary to provide the highest quality care to his patients. Dr. Kanz sought to return to the Texas Hill Country and was excited when given the opportunity to practice in the San Antonio area.
He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and an active fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also a member of the Texas Medical Association and the Bexar County Medical Society.
Dr. Kanz is married and has 4 children. He is very active with his family and enjoys traveling, camping, swimming, fishing, golf and volunteering as a coach for youth sports.

Kuwamura, Frank, III, MD
Dr. Kuwamura III, graduated Boston University where he received his Ph.D. in Microbiology. He completed his internship and orthopaedic residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Kuwamura is currently a commander in the U.S. Naval Reserves. He trained for his interest in the spine by completing a comprehensive spinal reconstruction fellowship at the Florida Neck and Back Institute. Dr. Kuwamura is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is a member of The North America Spine Society.He received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. He also speaks multiple languages, including Spanish.

Moran, Mark, MD
Dr. Mark A. Moran is a diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology with a subspecialty certification in Pain Management. He completed his post-doctorate Fellowship in Pain Medicine from Penn State University Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and is very excited to return home to his native San Antonio.
Dr. Moran completed his undergraduate work from Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. With training focused on a multidisciplinary approach to pain relief, he strongly believes in using physical therapy, exercise, and total health maintenance to help patients minimize pain by maximizing health. Dr. Moran is a member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the North American Spine Society, Texas Medical Association, Bexar County Medical Society, and the International Spine Intervention Society.
His medical interests include mechanical back pain, neuropathic pain, and vertebral compression fractures among many others. Dr. Moran is also part of the research efforts at Consultants in Pain Research (CPR). Established in 2003, CPR specializes in studies that have to do with Chronic Pain and is actively enrolling for multiple studies at any given time. Besides work he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. His personal interests include basketball, running, history, and military aviation.
Perez, Rene, MD, FACOG
Dr. Rene Perez was born and raised in Harlingen, TX. He attended the University of Baylor in Waco, TX and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and minored in Biology & Environmental Studies in 1999. During his attendance at Baylor, Dr. Perez was a research assistant for four professors in three different departments. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2003. Dr. Perez then attended residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at University Hospital in San Antonio and completed his training in June 2007. He is an active member of Bexar County Medical Society, Texas Medical Associations and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. Quezada, Carlos E., MD. Board Certified, FACOG
Carlos was born in Laredo, Texas and moved to San Antonio with his adopted grandparents at age 4. He quickly learned to be a devoted San Antonio Spurs fan after watching his first game at Hemisfair Arena. He attended school at South San West Campus, moved on to Palo Alto College where he became president of the Alpha Theta Pi honor society. He graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with Bachelor of Science premed. He attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio under a full scholarship form the U.S. Navy and received his Doctorate of Medicine degree. He completed his Obstetrics & Gynecology residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego. In total, he spent 16 years with the U.S Navy, having been stationed in Europe, Asia and throughout the United States. He left active duty service as Lt Commander and returned home to take care of his hometown folk. He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology, board certified OBGYN. He is affiliated with Texas Medical Association, American College of OBGYN, Bexar County Medical Society, Mexican American Hispanic Physicians Association. He is the current Secretary-Treasurer for Section V, District XI representing San Antonio in advocating women’s health issues. He is robotically trained surgeon. He is most proud of his children and the wonderful job raising them by his wife, Christie. Vargas, Daniel, MD
Dr. Daniel Vargas earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and his medical degree from the University of Texas at Houston. He continued his training with a Residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Board certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Vargas has been in private practice since 2009 and has been with General Surgical Associates since 2011. Worrich, Scott, MD
Dr. Scott Worrich is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology with a subspecialty certification in Pain Management. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed an Anesthesiology residency at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center prior to returning to San Antonio for a post-doctorate Fellowship in Pain Medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center.
A native of San Antonio, Dr. Worrich completed his undergraduate work at Texas A&M University. He is a member of numerous professional associations including the Texas Medical Association, Bexar County Medical Society, American Academy of Pain Medicine, American Neuromodulation Society and the International Spinal Injection Society. His interests include cancer pain, neck and back pain, neuromodulation (spinal cord stimulation) and neuropathic pain syndromes. He believes in improving his patients quality of life through a multimodal approach to pain management.
Dr. Worrich is married with two boys. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and coaching his boy’s athletic teams.
